Carjacking charges send tuxedo-clad man on the way to a prom to jail!

It’s June 2012 and that means prom and graduation season for many young people. It also means that many of these young people will be spreading their wings and pushing whatever they can to the limit.

So, it appears that Lorenzo Bracey, 20, a college student from Chicago, dressed in a tuxedo on his way to a prom decided to push the limits by carjacking an SUV at gunpoint. However, the car owner later recognized his car in a McDonald’s parking lot and called the police. [Read more →]

Drug DUI ends in death of 8-year-old riding bicycle

More and more we are hearing about people being arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) of drugs, not alcohol, and causing accidents – many of which are fatal. This is more prevalent among young adults, but not unheard of with older adults as well.

Recently, Hanin Goma, 23, of Skokie, Illinois was charged with a felony aggravated DUI and misdemeanor DUI of drugs (she admitted to smoking marijuana that morning, plus she has a previous drug possession conviction on her record), resulting in the death of an 8-year-old, Carter Vo, who was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk.
